Our Mission

 

The mission of the Walls Off Washington is to be a space where everyone is comfortable and welcomed. Only some people feel comfortable where art of this caliber is typically showcased. Bringing stellar artists often just showcased in museums and galleries into the open air, we intend for the Walls to remain a space for all to enjoy.

The vision for the Walls Off Washington was initiated by Mary Ann Srenco. It spans a few walkable blocks in Grand Center, the arts district of St. Louis. It provides a uniquely crafted and intentionally curated artistic experience that acts as a thoroughfare between the eastern and western ends of midtown. Our audience can experience art differently than they can anywhere else in the surrounding area.

Taking an arts-based approach to community development, the Foundation ensures we are aligning our investments with the needs and vision of the broader community. Committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive approach, we further economic development and cultural sustainability, while helping to establish St. Louis as a premier arts and entertainment destination.
